40 Week Update: 0 days left!
Baby's size: It's hard to say for sure how big your baby will be, but the average newborn weighs about 7 1/2 pounds (a small pumpkin) and is about 20 inches long.
Baby's development: Her skull bones are not yet fused, which allows them to overlap a bit if it's a snug fit through the birth canal during labor. This so-called "molding" is the reason your baby's noggin may look a little conehead-ish after birth. Rest assured — it's normal and temporary.
Best of the week: Enjoying my last few days of Bella Rose's movement inside me! Spending Valentine's Day with Chris (see post on How Holly C's It). Having a relaxing weekend with beautiful weather!
Worst of the week: Sheer exhaustion! I am getting less and less sleep. I am definitely not showing patience with my students. I am no nonsense this week!
Side Effects: Retaining fluid in my legs, feet, and ankles. Only 3-4 hours of sleep a night. Braxton Hicks contraction. Pressure in lower abdomen. Waking up in the middle of the night from hunger (see cravings).
Cravings: Anything! My appetite has increased tremendously. Although, I tend to want junk food! :)
Anticipating: My sweet baby girl's arrival! We are ready!
Goals Accomplished: Finished pregnancy journal and I am half way through with the expectant mother's devotional. We took pictures of the finished nursery (post coming later today). Chris is slowly but surely editing the maternity pictures -- I hope to have these up either today or tomorrow. Finished reading the expectant parent's devotional!
Here are this week's goals:
Finish writing letters to Bella in her journal
Install car seat (Waiting on Chris for this one!)
Work on Baby Album
One thank you card left!
Post nursery and maternity photos!
**Doctor's Visit will be posted later today! :)
