Doctor's Visit:
Blood Pressure: 122/80
Fetal Heartbeat: What a beautiful sound! :)
Weight: Gained 0 lbs for a total of 22 lbs during the pregnancy
Dr. Ruffin did a pelvic exam! I am still 75% effaced (thinning of the cervix), but I am not dilated. She did mention that they sometimes let first time mom's go 2 weeks over their due date (which would put us at March 1) but I said no way! :) She showed me how to tell where Bella's leg, butt, and head were in my body. It was so cool! Finally, she told me that she thought Bella was an 8 lb baby! :)
Next visit: Next Wed (40 weeks) with Dr. Bauer
39 Week Update:
Baby's size: Your baby's waiting to greet the world! She continues to build a layer of fat to help control her body temperature after birth, but it's likely she already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon.
Baby's development: The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.
Best of the week: Enjoying my last few days of Bella Rose's movement inside me! Having another surprise drop off at our house -- we received diapers and tons of baby goodies! We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends! Enjoying my last meal out with my girl friends and my small group!
Worst of the week: The bittersweet feeling of wanting her to stay in but also come out! :) Also, my procrastinating things that I know needs to get done! Exhaustion!
Side Effects: Ankles are constantly swollen. I'm sleeping with my ankles elevated. I am only sleeping about 4-5 hours a night -- waking up frequently because of pains or bathroom breaks. I have to definitely walk slowly and take steps slowly. I especially feel sore first thing in the morning. It takes me a while to not feel pain in my lower abdomen.
Cravings: Brown Sugar Pop Tarts
Anticipating: Spending a relaxing weekend with Chris. I hope to have my feet propped up for most of it! Also, I am anticipating when I will go into labor! Any day now....
Goals Accomplished: Finished reading Baby Wise and packed for the hospital!
Here are this week's goals:
Continue writing letters to Bella in my pregnancy journal -- I wrote several last week!
Continue filling out my pregnancy album
Read our new parent devotional
Install car seat (Still isn't done....I am a procrastinator)
Take pictures of the semi-completed nursery
Hound Chris about editing the maternity photos
Minimally pick up around the house
Work on Baby Album

Holly, you are doing great!! 5 days away from your due date, OMG! I hate that your poor feet are just so swollen, that is no fun at all. Seriously if you need my help at all this weekend organizing or even going on a walk with you I would love it! Just call! I can't wait to hear when Bella arrives, any second now!
